Implants & Restorative

What Are Dental Implants

A titanium root placed into the jaw, healed in, and topped with a porcelain crown. It replaces the tooth and the root — which is why the bone underneath stops shrinking.

  • Why the root matters

A bridge replaces the visible tooth but nothing below the gum, so the bone that used to hold the root gradually resorbs.

An implant loads the bone the way a natural root did, and the bone stays.

  • What it involves

Consultation and a 3D scan, placement through a surgical guide, three to four months of healing with a temporary tooth, then the crown.

Four appointments, spread over a few months, almost all of them short.

  • Who is a candidate

Most people. Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes and certain bone medications complicate it; insufficient bone is usually solvable with a graft.

The 3D scan at the first appointment answers this properly rather than by guesswork.

Our work

Photographs from a completed case at the practice. This is the largest version of what is described above — the same titanium root, repeated across a whole jaw and carrying a fixed arch of teeth rather than a single crown.

A finished upper and lower full-arch implant bridge, the two arches closed together against a black background
Both arches, finished and closed together. This is where the work ends up — a full set of teeth that is screwed down and stays there.
Both arches of a full-arch implant bridge seen from above, the titanium bars and their screw channels facing the camera
Both arches from above, frames facing up. Four to six implants carry an arch, and the channels are milled to meet them.

Individual results vary. Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
