Bone Grafting

Where a tooth has been missing a long time, the bone that held it has usually receded. Grafting rebuilds the foundation an implant needs.

  • Socket preservation

The best graft is the one placed at the moment the tooth comes out.

Filling the socket immediately preserves the ridge shape and usually avoids a larger, separate procedure later.

  • Sinus lift

In the upper back jaw the sinus floor often sits too low for an implant.

Lifting the membrane and placing graft material underneath creates the height needed. It sounds dramatic and is a routine day procedure under local anaesthetic.

  • Do you actually need one

Often not. The 3D scan measures the bone you have in three dimensions, and narrower implants or angled placement can sometimes avoid grafting altogether.

We will show you the scan and the reasoning either way.
