Privacy Policy

We collect it only with your consent and only when it is reasonably necessary to provide your dental care, or where the law requires or allows it. Each of our forms that asks for personal information says so above its submit button and links to this policy.

Through a booking request: your name, contact details, the treatment and time you would like, a preferred dentist and any notes. Through the new patient questionnaire, which you can fill in on this website or on an iPad at our front desk: your identity and contact details, occupation, health fund details, your GP, an emergency contact, medical history, medications and supplements, allergies, pregnancy, dental history and, on the iPad, your signature. At the practice: Medicare details when you claim through Medicare, clinical notes, photographs, X-rays and scans, treatment and account records. We collect information directly from you wherever we can.

Please do not type health or personal information into it; to ask about your own care, use the enquiry form or call us. If you ask the assistant to pass a question to the front desk, the name and contact details you give it are stored with your question as an enquiry.

We do not sell your information to anybody, for any purpose.

Dental laboratories, for the manufacture of your restorations. Your health fund and Medicare, for claiming. The service providers listed below, who store or process information on our behalf. And anyone the law requires us to disclose it to.

They are read only by practice staff, who sign in to our internal staff app, "EcoDental Staff" (iOS). FractalX Technologies FZ-LLC builds and maintains the website and the staff app as a service provider on our behalf. Your IP address is not stored with a submission; only a one-way hash of it is kept, to stop automated spam.

These service providers store or process it for us: Supabase, for the database that holds website and front-desk form submissions (Sydney, Australia); Vercel, for hosting the website, with forms processed on its servers in Sydney (Sydney, Australia — Vercel Inc. is based in the United States); OpenAI, for answering questions typed into the website's chat assistant (United States); Google, for the map embedded on the website (United States). Where a provider is overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

After that they are destroyed or de-identified securely. Records are held on access-controlled, encrypted and backed-up systems, and any residual paper records in locked storage.

Write to info@ecodentist.com.au or ask at the front desk. We will respond within 30 days, and if we refuse a request we will tell you why in writing.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992. For a complaint about a health record under NSW law, you can also contact the Information and Privacy Commission NSW at ipc.nsw.gov.au.
