Implants & Restorative

Several Teeth Missing

You do not need one implant per tooth. Two or three well-placed implants can carry a fixed bridge across a longer gap.

  • Planning the span

Where the implants go matters more than how many there are.

Read more about Planning the span

We plan the whole span in 3D first, so the load is distributed evenly and the porcelain is not asked to bridge more than it safely can.

  • Why not a partial denture

A removable partial rests on the gum and clasps onto your remaining teeth, which stresses them and traps plaque.

It also does nothing for the bone underneath, which keeps shrinking — so the denture needs relining every few years as the ridge changes shape.

  • Staging the treatment

Extraction and grafting first if needed, then placement, then healing, then the bridge.

You are never left without teeth in the visible zone — a temporary is fitted at every stage.

Our work

Completed cases at the practice: a mouth of failing crowns with a lost tooth, restored with implants; a partial denture and old crowns, replaced with complete arches; and several failing teeth in one arch, taken out and replaced together rather than one at a time.

One patient's teeth with the lips held back before treatment: old crowns with dark margins at the gum, and a gap where a tooth is missing
Before. Old crowns failing at the gumline, and a gap left by a lost tooth.
The same patient's teeth after treatment: complete, even upper and lower rows of teeth
After. Both arches complete again, with implants where teeth had been lost. One patient's case.
One patient's teeth before treatment: a pink partial denture and old crowns in the upper arch, with stained lower teeth
Before. A partial denture and old crowns carrying the upper arch, and worn, stained teeth below.
The same patient's teeth after treatment: complete, even upper and lower rows of white teeth
After. Both arches rebuilt as complete, even rows. One patient's case.
One patient's teeth photographed before and after treatment with the lips held back: above, worn and stained teeth with gaps and heavy tartar at the gumline; below, a complete even arch of white teeth
Several teeth gone or failing in the same arch, and the arch rebuilt. Replacing the run in one piece keeps the bite even — a gap left alone lets the teeth either side of it drift into it. One patient's case.

Individual results vary. Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
