White Fillings
Composite and porcelain, shade-matched to the tooth beside them. This practice has never placed an amalgam filling.
- Composite and porcelain only
- No amalgam

Why not amalgam
Amalgam does not bond to the tooth — it is wedged in, which means more healthy tooth has to be cut away to hold it, and over years it can wedge the cusps apart.

Bonded composite does the opposite: it holds the remaining tooth together.
Replacing old amalgam
If you want existing amalgam removed we do it under rubber dam isolation, with high-volume suction and supplementary air, and we dispose of it through an amalgam separator so none of it reaches the waterways.
When porcelain is better
Composite is ideal for small and medium cavities.

Where a tooth has lost a cusp or most of its biting surface, a milled porcelain inlay or onlay distributes the load far better and lasts considerably longer.
